About Us
Birchgrove Eggs are based in the Ystwyth Valley at Trawsgoed, Near Aberystwyth.
The Ystwyth Valley is renown for its pasture, woodland and the famous Ystwyth river - thus the name Aberystwyth.
The farmland that is used to produce Birchgrove eggs isn't treated by herbicides or pesticides and as such each spring and summer wild flowers abound. This year the owners, Gwen and Tony Burgess, have planted an additional 200 trees on their farm. These have a practical apart from an environmental and aesthetic use - they provide shade and shelter for the chickens, which were, of course, originally jungle creatures.
Birchgrove eggs are all free range, and assured under the RSPCA Freedom Food scheme.
Birchgrove eggs are delivered throughout Wales to University caterers, shops/supermarkets, cafés, hotels and restaurants - (including Michelin star) and residential homes. Wholesaler enquiries welcome. Despite the customer base being diverse each customer shares the same criteria - they all require a quality product and service that is consistent, reliable, and produced to the highest standards of welfare and ethical considerations.
We believe we offer our customers a high quality product at prices that provide real value for money.
